We’re back!!
That’s right! It’s time for round one of the 4th annual #30secondbooktalk Challenge!
We’ve gathered the best of the best: 16 epic book talks, each only 30 seconds long, from educators (and one student!) around the world! And now it’s YOUR turn to decide which four will move on to the final round and compete for the title of World Book Talk Champion!!
In addition to bragging rights, this year, thanks to our friends at Scholastic, all 16 participants will receive an autographed copy of Dav Pilkey’s Dogman: Brawl of The Wild for their school or classroom library. Additionally, each of the top four competitors will win free registration to the Scholastic Reading Summit of their choice. And, as if that wasn’t enough, the grand prize winner will not only take home the coveted Vince LomBOOKi Prize, but they’ll also receive $500 worth of books for their school or classroom library! Talk about AMAZEballs!
As always, however, the real winners of this annual competition to bring home the book talk gold are actually the readers who learn about new books by watching and voting! Here’s how you (and your students!) can help determine which book talk will reign supreme:
Round one voting ends on Friday, April 26th, so act fast to make sure your favorites make it to round two! And if you’d like to make the #30secondbooktalk part of rich literacy experience for kids, we’ve shared some resources below to help.
Happy voting, everyone! And may the best book talk win!!
